Live Nation Entertainment Inc. has sought to persuade a New York jury that the company has succeeded despite robust competition by offering superior services to venues and fans, contesting claims by more than 30 states that it illegally monopolizes the market for live events.
The largest US concert promoter and ticket seller called a slew of witnesses over the past week and a half in its federal antitrust trial to counter allegations that Live Nation uses its Ticketmaster unit, concert promotion business and venues it owns to pressure customers to use its services, threaten those who attempt to switch or block out rivals.
