In a letter to the group of nations that decides the venue of the 33rd Conference of the Parties, or COP, the Indian government said it was withdrawing its candidacy “following a review of its commitments for the year 2028.” India “will continue to engage constructively with the international community to advance global climate action,” continued the letter, which was seen by Bloomberg.
