Ghana’s E&P Wins Bid for Damang Mine After Gold Fields Exit
Engineers and Planners Co., a closely held company owned by the brother of Ghana’s president, won a bid to take over the Damang gold mine after Gold Fields Ltd. transfers the asset to the government later this month.
E&P beat three other bidders — Vortex Resources Mining Group, Maripoma Mining Services Ltd. and Heath Goldfields Ltd. — after those firms failed to meet all the criteria in an official tender, the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources said in a statement published on its website.
