Some lucky people respond better to weight-loss drugs than others. New research shows their genes are playing a role.

Those with a specific gene variant had more success taking drugs like Novo Nordisk A/S’ Wegovy and Eli Lilly & Co.’s Zepbound, according to a study published Wednesday in the journal Nature. The down side is they were also more prone to common side effects like nausea and vomiting, it found.
