Ares Hires Ex-Goldman China Chief Morse as Asia Credit Head

Ares Management Corp. has hired former Goldman Sachs Group Inc. banker E.G. Morse as partner and head of Asia credit, the global investment firm said in a statement, as it continues to strengthen its global leadership team.

Based in Hong Kong, Morse will replace the firm’s current head of Asia credit Edwin Wong, who will retire by end June, according to a company statement on Thursday. Ares has also appointed partners Dinesh Goel and Gabriel Fong as co-heads of the Asia special situations strategy, it added. Sydney-based Peter Graf will continue to lead the firm’s direct lending strategy in the region.
