UK Car Sales Rise to Highest Since 2019 in Resilient Showing

UK car sales rose to the highest in seven years, suggesting that the conflict in the Middle East hasn’t yet stopped consumers from making pricey purchases.

A total of 380,627 new vehicles were registered in March, the biggest monthly tally since 2019, the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders said Tuesday. Plug-in hybrids were the best performers with a 47% gain, and the top-selling overall model was an SUV from China’s Chery Automobile Co.
