Starmer Ramps Up Anti-War Message Ahead of Key UK Election Test

Prime Minister Keir Starmer sought to capitalize on his falling out with US President Donald Trump ahead of pivotal local elections next month, using the spat to draw a contrast with his chief rivals.

Starmer on Tuesday criticized Reform UK founder Nigel Farage and Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch over their initial support for the US and Israeli war against Iran. The pair “would have jumped into this war with both feet without thinking through the consequences,” the prime minister said in the Labour Party’s first TV broadcast ahead of the May 7 vote.
