One-Dyas BV has started production from a second well at its platform in the North Sea, lifting annual output at the site to about 1 billion cubic meters of gas.

The increase boosts supplies to the Netherlands and Germany as both countries seek to strengthen energy security following the disruption of Russian gas flows in 2022. The project “aligns with the Dutch policy objective for small fields: to meet existing demand with domestic natural gas as much as possible,” Chief Executive Officer Chris de Ruyter van Steveninck said in a statement Tuesday.
