Ireland Tests Digital ID to Verify Age of Social Media Users

The Irish government launched a test phase of its digital wallet Friday including an age verification capability to keep teenagers safer online.

The digital ID will be able to facilitate age verification to help protect children and young people from harms on social media platforms, according to a statement from the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform.
