NATO Must Prove Its Worth After Trump Threats, US Envoy Says

NATO member states must step up and demonstrate their value to the US after President Donald Trump threatened to leave the bloc amid frustrations over the war against Iran, Washington’s top envoy to the alliance said.

“Ultimately, the time is now for our NATO allies to explain why they’re beneficial to the United States of America and step up,” US Ambassador to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization Matthew Whitaker said Thursday in an interview on Fox Business.
