Short-dated gilts snapped their best streak in more than a month, swinging back to losses after US President Donald Trump’s pledge to extend attacks on Iran for weeks revived inflation fears.
After a turbulent March, the UK’s two-year bond had managed to eke out four days of gains, its best run since mid-February, with the 10-year maturity also staging a comeback. But the rally petered out Thursday, with two-year notes giving back some of those gains.
