Ford Motor Co.’s vehicle deliveries fell 8.8% in the first quarter, driven by a 16% decline in its top-selling F-Series pickup that continues to be constrained following fires last year at a key supplier of the truck’s aluminum body panels.

The Dearborn, Michigan-based automaker’s sales fell in line with industrywide declines in a slowing auto market shaken by consumer concerns about affordability and $4-a-gallon gasoline. General Motors Co. reported a 9.7% drop-off in the first three months of the year, while Toyota Motor Corp.’s sales were essentially flat after an 8.5% decline in March.
