Barclays Private Bank Singapore Head Tan to Join Schroders

Barclays Plc’s head of private bank in Singapore is leaving the firm just as it prepares to make a full return to the business in the city-state this year.

Evonne Tan, who joined the London-based bank five years ago as part of that push, will leave Barclays to join Schroders Wealth Management as the chief executive officer of its Asia business from July 1, Schroders Wealth said in a statement on Thursday. She will join the wealth manager’s executive committee as it ramps up investment in Asia. Barclays said earlier that it will appoint a successor for Tan’s vacated role.
