Spain’s Sparkling Wine Split Widens With New Defection From Cava
A fracture that’s been developing for nearly a decade in Spain’s sparkling wine industry has widened with a fresh defection from Cava, the country’s biggest appellation in the bubbly segment.
Juvé & Camps, a niche producer with ties to the founding family of Spanish pharmaceutical firm Grifols SA, is the latest producer to leave the denomination for Corpinnat. The breakaway was formed in 2018 to distinguish higher-end wines from cheaper, mass-market bottles.
