S. Korea’s Inflation Edges Up as Iran Energy Risks Escalate
South Korea’s consumer inflation edged up just beyond the central bank’s 2% target, signaling building price pressures as the escalating Iran conflict pushes global energy costs higher.
Consumer prices rose 2.2% in March from a year earlier, compared with a 2% increase in February, data from the Ministry of Data and Statistics showed Thursday. The result compares with a 2.3% median estimate in a Bloomberg survey.
