Scotiabank Hires Royal Bank’s Chris Adams to Lead Utilities Push

Photographer: Paige Taylor White/BloombergBank of Nova Scotia hired longtime Royal Bank of Canada investment banker Chris Adams to run a new team focused on power and utilities as the firm eyes opportunities in the fast-growing space.
Adams, who spent almost 25 years at Royal Bank, joined Scotiabank on Monday, spokesperson Jacky Monterosso said in an email. He’ll be based in both Toronto and New York and is set to lead a newly combined group in the firm’s corporate and investment banking division, bringing together its power and utilities work across Canada, the US and Latin America.
