Reform UK vowed to scrap air passenger duty on short-haul flights for families should it win the next election, as the upstart party seeks to show it’s in tune with voters battling rising living costs.

In a policy unveiled at London’s Heathrow Airport on Tuesday, Reform Leader Nigel Farage and the party’s Treasury spokesman, Robert Jenrick, said the tax discount would apply when an adult economy ticket is purchased alongside at least one under-18 ticket, a move that would also include school trips and grandparents traveling with their grandchildren.
