Leaders in the Czech Republic and Poland reacted with dismay on Tuesday to a report claiming that the Hungarian government intervened on behalf of Moscow to seek relief from the European Union sanctions.
Czech President Petr Pavel said his country should reassess its contacts with Hungary, and in particular with its foreign minister, Peter Szijjarto. Budapest’s top envoy was allegedly recorded having a phone call with his Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, according to report from a consortium of investigative journalists.
