Canada Economy Grew Modestly Ahead of Iran War Energy Shock

Canada’s real gross domestic product grew modestly at the start of the year, suggesting the economy was chugging along ahead of the oil price shock fueled by the Iran war.

Real GDP by industry expanded by 0.1% in January while preliminary data points to a 0.2% increase in February, Statistics Canada reported on Tuesday.
