Australia’s LNG-Heavy Energy Sector Tops Peers on Record Quarter
Australia’s energy sector posted a record quarter to emerge as a regional outperformer, as the war in Iran tightens global fuel supplies and boosts liquefied natural gas exporters.
A local sub-index has risen almost 20% since the conflict began, outpacing a broader Asia-Pacific energy benchmark and capping its strongest three-month stretch on record. The rally has been driven by LNG-focused exporters, lifting earnings prospects for companies such as Woodside Energy Group Ltd. and Santos Ltd.
