GOP Plans Three-Year DHS Funding Without Democrats, Senator Says

Senate Republicans plan to fund the Department of Homeland Security for three years using a party-line budget process in an effort to sidestep Democratic opposition as the shutdown drags on, a key GOP senator said Monday.

“We’re working on reconciliation now. We’re taking this off the table,” Sen. John Hoeven (R-N.D.) told reporters. “That’s enough of this with the Democrats. We’re going to fund DHS for the next three years.”
