Brazil economists lifted their inflation forecasts through 2028 further above target as the war in Iran pushes up global fuel prices and prompts investors to scale back bets on monetary easing.

Consumer price increases will hit 4.31% this December, up from the previous estimate of 4.17%, according to a weekly central bank survey of economists published on Monday. Year-end inflation forecasts for 2027 and 2028 edged up to 3.84% and 3.57%, respectively. All figures are above the 3% target.
