WTO Members Debate Five-Year Extension of E-Commerce Tariff Ban
World Trade Organization members are weighing a five-year extension of a global ban on e-commerce tariffs, according to a draft statement circulating Sunday.
The so-called moratorium on customs duties on “electronic transmissions” has been renewed at WTO gatherings every two years since 1998, but the Trump administration is pushing for a permanent deal at the WTO’s 14th ministerial conference that began Thursday in Yaounde, Cameroon.
