Microsoft Corp. will occupy a data center project previously earmarked for Oracle Corp. and OpenAI, scooping up 900 megawatts of capacity after the other two companies walked away from the site.

The first building on the site in Abilene, Texas, is expected to be completed and powered by mid-2027, Crusoe, the facility’s developer, said in a statementBloomberg Terminal on Friday. Bloomberg reported this week that Microsoft had agreed to rent the data center.
