China and Philippines Revive Talks Over South China Sea Dispute

The Philippines and China are holding formal talks on their territorial dispute in the South China Sea for the first time in more than a year, with both sides exploring cooperation in “non-sensitive areas.”

The 24th Philippines-China Foreign Ministry Consultations and the 11th Meeting of the Philippines-China Bilateral Consultation Mechanism on the South China Sea are being held back-to-back in Quanzhou, China on Friday and Saturday, according to Manila’s foreign affairs department.
