China’s Wang Reiterates Push for Iran Talks in Call With Canada
Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi urged the international community to facilitate a return to negotiations over the war in Iran, saying China and Canada could play a “constructive role” in pursuing a political solution.
In a call with his Canadian counterpart Anita Anand on Thursday, Wang said the issue of Iran’s nuclear program shouldn’t be used as a pretext for military action and warned that the use of force would risk destabilizing the region, according to a readout from the Chinese government.
