Bertelsmann Profits Down With Declining Results of TV Unit RTL

The outgoing chief executive officer of Germany’s biggest media company said the TV and streaming industries in Europe is facing a crisis and must consolidate.

“Without consolidation, I don’t believe European media players in the TV and streaming sectors will be able to survive in the long run,” Bertelsmann SE CEO Thomas Rabe said in an interview on Thursday alongside the company’s annual results.
