Vestas Plans €250 Million Wind-Turbine Factory in Scotland

Danish wind-turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems A/S plans to invest more than €250 million ($290 million) to build a new factory in Scotland, a win for the UK government’s clean-energy agenda north of the border.

The plant, still subject to a final investment decision, would produce parts for Vestas’ main offshore turbine and create as many as 500 direct jobs, the company said in a statement Wednesday.
