Sri Lanka’s central bank held its benchmark rate unchanged for a fifth straight meeting, with rising oil prices from the Middle East conflict adding to inflationary pressure.

The Central Bank of Sri Lanka maintained its overnight policy rate at 7.75% on Wednesday. Eight of nine economists surveyed by Bloomberg expected no change, while one forecast a 25 basis point increase.
