New York City’s transit system is set to receive $600 million of long-awaited Federal Emergency Management Agency funds for additional cleaning expenses incurred during the Covid pandemic.

The reimbursement money is a boost for the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, the state agency that oversees the city’s subway, bus and commuter rail lines.
