Merck Nears Deal to Buy Terns Pharmaceuticals

Merck & Co. is in advanced talks to buy drugmaker Terns Pharmaceuticals Inc., according to people familiar with the matter.

The transaction could be announced as soon as Wednesday, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the discussions are private.
