Hong Kong Arrests Booksellers Over Jimmy Lai Title, Reports Say
Hong Kong police reportedly arrested a bookstore owner and three employees on suspicion of selling “seditious” publications, including a biography of jailed media tycoon Jimmy Lai.
Pong Yat-ming, founder of independent bookstore Book Punch, and the staffers were arrested on Tuesday after national security officers searched the premises and seized titles deemed to have “seditious intention,” the Ming Pao newspaper reported, without saying where it got the information.
