Former Google Executive Set to Take Helm at Besieged BBC
Matt Brittin, widely expected to become next director-general of the BBC, would be the first technology executive to lead the UK institution as it faces challenges to its funding model, increased competition from streamers and a reputationally damaging lawsuit from President Donald Trump.
His appointment has been approved by the British Broadcasting Corp.’s board, the Times of London reported. Brittin declined to comment. Representatives for the BBC declined to comment.
