UK counter-terror police are investigating whether the Iranian state is linked to Monday’s arson attack on an ambulance service run by a Jewish nonprofit organization.

“That link to a possible state-backed incident is one line of inquiry,” the UK’s head of counter-terrorism policing, Laurence Taylor, told BBC radio on Tuesday when asked about Iran. While the incident is being treated as an anti-semitic hate crime, he said, it’s right for anti-terrorism officers to lead a probe “when we have incidents like this where there are possible links to foreign states.”
