RBNZ Chief Economist Calls for Reforms as Global Risks Increase
Reserve Bank of New Zealand Chief Economist Paul Conway urged the government to pursue structural reforms to lift productivity, saying monetary policy can’t solve the cost-of-living crisis alone.
The Iran war and a more fragmented and unpredictable global economy raise the stakes for ensuring that New Zealand’s structural policy settings are resilient, adaptive and fit for purpose, Conway said a speech to financial advisers in Auckland Wednesday.
