Meloni Demands Minister Exit in Growing Post-Referendum Turmoil
Italian Premier Giorgia Meloni called on Tourism Minister Daniela Santanche to resign as she attempts to clean house after a defeat in a key referendum this week, in a sign of growing turmoil within her government.
The demand issued late Tuesday followed the resignation of two justice ministry officials, decisions Meloni said she welcomed. Undersecretary Andrea Delmastro and cabinet chief Giusi Bartolozzi both stepped down earlier in the day.
