The effects of the US-Israel war with Iran are being felt around the world. The bombing campaign begun on Feb. 28 has killed thousands across the region and led to retaliatory attacks on US allies. Plus there’s the de facto blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and, most recently, an Israeli attack on an Iranian gas field that was followed by an Iranian attack on a Qatari gas field. Gas prices are way up, supply chains have been upended and airport closures in the Middle East have disrupted air travel worldwide. Dubai usually has the world’s busiest international airport, but it’s been closed for much of the past few weeks.
