European Gas Pricing In Longer Disruption From Qatar LNG Damage

European traders are bracing for a prolonged disruption to supplies from the world’s largest liquefied natural gas plant in Qatar, with a sharp rise in prices for delivery in 2027 this week.

Year-ahead contracts have increased more steeply than the benchmark front-month after an attack by Iran that hit Qatar’s Ras Laffan Industrial City damaging two LNG production trains. Nearer-term prices are still double levels seen three weeks ago, before the war began.
