Yen Gains Against Dollar as Ueda Speaks After BOJ Holds Rates
The yen strengthened against the dollar as Bank of Japan Governor Kazuo Ueda spoke after the central bank’s decision to keep its benchmark rate unchanged.
Ueda said in a press conference that wage talks have been delivering solid results so far, and that it’s possible to grasp the direction of price trends in the short-term. He also noted that authorities need to keep monitoring the impact of currency movements on prices, as moves may have more impact on prices than before.
