ECB’s Stournaras Warns of Large Impact From War If It Lasts

European Central Bank Governing Council member Yannis Stournaras warned that war in the Middle East could have significant economic consequences if it continues.

“The geopolitical conflict constitutes an additional adverse supply shock for the global and the euro-area economy, with a potentially large macroeconomic impact should the conflict persist or spread across countries,” the Greek central-bank chief told an event in Frankfurt.
