Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda agreed to “de-escalate tensions” and implement a peace agreement reached with the help of US President Donald Trump last year.

Officials from both nations agreed on “concrete steps” toward lasting peace in the war-torn eastern Congo during talks held on March 17-18 in Washington, according to a statement by the Department of State.
