India Allocates $3.6 Billion for Ready-to-Use Industrial Parks

In a boost to the manufacturing sector, the Indian government announced the allocation of 336.6 billion rupees ($3.6 billion) spread over six years for the development of 100 “plug-and-play” industrial parks across the country.

Medium, small and micro industries, which have been hit due to the Middle East crisis, are expected to be the primary beneficiaries of this project. Under the Bharat Audyogik Vikas Yojna, the federal government, alongside the states will offer up pre-approved land, ready infrastructure and integrated services in order to attract investment, Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said at a press briefing Wednesday in New Delhi.
