Fortress-Backed Derby Lane Hires Ex-Citi CMBS Trader Nadella

Derby Lane Partners LP, a real estate credit investment firm formed last year, tapped former Citigroup Inc. trader Nishant Nadella to lead its public investments including commercial mortgage backed securities.

Nadella, a veteran in the industry for over two decades, will be a partner at the New-York based Derby Lane, according to the firm’s spokesperson. He joins from commercial real estate lender 3650 Capital. He has also worked at mortgage real estate investment trust Annaly Capital Management Inc. and hedge fund H/2 Capital Partners LLC, after starting his career at Citigroup, where he helped build its agency CMBS business.
