Poland’s parcel locker operator InPost SA is preparing to offer an artificial intelligence-powered shopping assistant, in an attempt to challenge the traditional marketplace model.

The Amsterdam-listed logistics company has registered around 4,000 merchants for the new feature, including leading Polish footwear retailer Modivo SA. After the testing phase, around 16 million users of its InPost app will be able to shop directly at these stores with suggestions provided by the assistant. The firm won’t charge a sales fee on such transactions, but will generate revenue from delivery fees.
