Bangladesh lifted restrictions on fuel sales, boosting supplies ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays as well as ensuring there’s enough water to irrigate paddy fields.

“Several fuel-carrying vessels have already arrived at Chattogram port, and our reserves are sufficient to meet the holiday surge,” Anindya Islam Amit, state minister for power and energy, said at a media briefing in the capital Dhaka on Sunday, without giving details on stockpiles. “From today until further notice, fuel oil will be distributed according to demand.”
