Billionaire Mohed Altrad is burnishing his man-of-the-people credentials — including displaying a love for fast food — as he seeks to convince voters on Sunday to elect him mayor of the French city of Montpellier.

“I’m happy, I love fries,” the smiling mogul said in a recent video while sitting at a local snack joint. “People think I always go to three-star, five-star restaurants but they’re wrong. I don’t like that.”
