GE Vernova, Hitachi to Explore Southeast Asia for Small Reactors

GE Vernova Inc. and Hitachi Ltd. agreed to explore opportunities to deploy small modular nuclear reactors in Southeast Asia.

The companies will study possibilities for their joint venture to introduce their BWRX-300 SMR reactor to Southeast Asian countries, according to a press statement released on Saturday. They signed a memorandum on Saturday at the Indo-Pacific Energy Security Ministerial and Business Forum held in Tokyo. GE Vernova and Hitachi will look at ways of cooperating with Japanese suppliers, they said in the statement.
