The UK and Ireland signed a renewed joint defense pact, as the neighboring nations bolster their security ties in an increasingly tense geopolitical landscape.
UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Taoiseach Micheal Martin met Friday in Cork at the second annual UK-Ireland summit, where issues including business and energy cooperation were also discussed. Starmer said discussions covered topics including cyber security, and maritime safety — including threats to undersea cables.
