Trump’s EPA Eases Controls in Proposed Ethylene Oxide Rule

The EPA Friday issued a revised air emissions rule for facilities that use ethylene oxide to sterilize medical equipment, medicines, spices, dried foods, and certain other products.

The Environmental Protection Agency’s proposed rule would keep National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) issued by the Biden administration in 2024 that it deems consistent with the Clean Air Act, the agency said.
