Sweden Boards Second Suspected Russian Shadow Fleet Vessel

Swedish officials boarded a second vessel suspected of belonging to Russia’s so-called shadow fleet in a sign the Nordic state is stepping up efforts against ships it sees as a security and environmental threat.

Officers from Sweden’s police and coast guard went aboard oil tanker Sea Owl 1 in Swedish territorial waters close to the port of Trelleborg late Thursday, according to a statement. The move followed a similar action against a grain transporter Caffa a week earlier.
